Last updated: 6th August 2018 Submitting Predictions Predictions.. 1. Must be received prior to the kick-off time of the relevant match, in order for your prediction to be confirmed 2. Can be submitted at any time, before an upcoming game 3. Has to be submitted by one of the following methods only: - In person (see point 5)
- Phone call
- Text
- Email
- WhatsApp (IUTDFANS Matchday WhatsApp group)
4. Your predictions should be submitted to Mohamed Meghani or Rahim Rajani only 5. Once an 'official' prediction has been noted, i.e. You have declared a prediction and it is established that it is your official prediction, this can be altered prior to kick-off - unless you use a wildcard (default score or change your score prediction at half-time/before the start of the 2nd half). This will be determined on a case by case basis, by Mohamed or Rahim Scoring: Points will be awarded on the actual score’s basis 5 points would be spread across each correct prediction Example:
Predict a 2-1 United win.. ..and United win 2-1, you would get 20 points United scoring 2 = 5 points Opposition scoring 1 = 5 points
Correct result (Predicting United to win) = 5 points Correct score (Predicting United to 2-1) = 5 points If you predict United to win 2-1 and they win 3-1, 5 points will be awarded for predicting the opposition to score 1 goal and 5 points for predicting United to win (10 points in total)
The maximum amount of points possible to earn from one match is 20 points.
Score predictions are for matches in normal time only i.e 90 minutes/stoppage time. Extra-time and penalties do not count. Wildcard System A wildcard system will mean that you can change your prediction for a game on any 3 occasions in a season. The rules are as follows: A change in your score prediction has to be done before the commencement of a 2nd half in 3 different games
Anything up to the time the 2nd half kicks off is permitted. This has to be submitted to either publicly on the IUTDFANS matchday WhatsApp group or by informing either Hanif, Mohamed or Rahim in person
A wildcard can be played if a default score has been applied (if there are no default scores available, you cannot play a wildcard)
Default scores Each individual is requested to submit a default score which would become valid on 3 different occasions in the event of no score being submitted by an individual for any league or cup match
The 3 games are the first, second and third games in which one does not submit a score prediction
After the first 3 occasions that the score is actively in effect, it will not be valid on a 4th occasion and any occasions thereafter for the rest of that season
Only 1 default score can be submitted to be used in that season, for any scores not submitted for 3 different games
Hatrick Award If an IUTDFANS member predicts a correct score in 3 consecutive matches (league and cup competitions) in the same season, they will automatically win the IUTDFANS hatrick award at the end of the season
Predictions apply as per normal match rules - i.e. predictions that are predicted in 90 minutes, not extra time count
If there are multiple IUTDFANS members who successfully predict the correct score in 3 consecutive matches, there will be an IUTDFANS hatrick award awarded to each member
If an IUTDFANS member opts out of a competition i.e. the IUTDFANS league or cup matches, their run of 3 consecutive score predictions will apply to the respective competition that they participate in only
A default score or wildcard can form part of the sequence and is acceptable for winning the IUTDFANS hatrick award
If an IUTDFANS members manages to score more than 1 hatrick in a season, they will still receive one IUTDFANS hatrick award only
